The Gugulethu Day Care Centre was a scene of joy yesterday as members of the South African Council for Business Women (SACBW) Lowveld visited the centre to put their finishing touches on their CSI Project for 2015.

With the support from the Nelspruit business community, SACBW  have managed to improve the Gugulethu Day Care Centre from two classrooms that could only accommodate 25 children to a centre with four new classrooms, toilets and plumbing , a dining hall and an extra store room to make space for the kitchen. They also improved the outside area by adding a new jungle gym and planting many trees to give the children some shade to play under.  The school can now accommodate 100 children.

Yesterday SACBW hosted a party for the children and teachers to celebrate the occasion. Everyone had a chance to dip their hands into paint and then place their mark on the new school wall.  With big smiles all around, it was obvious how much joy the children, teachers and sponsors have had from this project.

Members and sponsors of SACBW say that they are humbled by the happiness and joy they have seen in the children and as business women and members of the community they are proud to have been able to make a difference.

We are very grateful for all the sponsors – that all contributed to various parts of this project
